The three works form a semantically complex environment. The most emphatic element of the ensemble is a neon installation with the line “omnes edunt omnesque eduntur”, according to which everything in the world feeds and reciprocally serves as food. The question formulated in the installation addresses, among others, the idea of what thoughts, emotions and actions people ‘feed’ each other and themselves. String, constructed from beef shank bones, takes the form of a DNA helix, making a connection with memetics, coined as the combination of mimesis and genetics. The neon inscription of Trapped Eye represents the psychological notions of perspective and capturing one’s attention.
Tamás Komoróczky (1963, Békéscsaba) is an intermedia artist characterised by an inquisitive and analytical approach. He explores existential and metaphysical questions in his works, using both natural (archaic) materials and modern technology, including neon graphics, which are virtually emblematic in his art.
