The supernova is the final explosion of a star, emitting about the same amount of energy as the Sun during its entire lifespan. Its brightness can reach a billion times that of the Sun. Kit Webster’s light composition is also built around the moment of the explosion. The core of the work is a small glass sphere, which, in a given moment, makes the light illuminating it explode into its elements and scatters it into every direction of dark space. This visually compelling process is also a violent deconstruction, during which the colour spectrum bursts into its particles right before our eyes.
